Summer

The Nestlhof is available as a starting point for numerous excursions.

Not far from the farm there is a recreational area for lovers of nature and those seeking some relax.

Through the recreational area flows the Mareiter Bach river. In the surroundings of Mareiter Bach you find numerous cycling and walking trails.

Nearly the farm is the Gilfenklamm gorge, one of the most impressive gorges in the Alps. The Gilfenklamm gorge can be safely accessed by adults and children. Secured footbridges, wooden bridges and stairs lead along the gorge, always close to the rocks and the water course.

Advisable are also the mountains Rosskopf, Ratschings and Ladurns, which have something to offer for all ages, panoramic hiking trails, rustic alpine huts and challenging mountain trails.

Winter

In a few minutes you can reach the Ratschings-Jaufen, Rosskopf or Ladurns ski areas in, which invite you to go skiing, tobogganing but also for walks.

At the head of the Ridnauntal valley, cross-country skiing enthusiasts will find a true cross-country skiing paradise with high snow reliability from December to April. The relatively sparsely populated valley offers wonderful winter landscapes and makes cross-country skiing an unforgettable experience.

The city of Sterzing is also worth a trip all year-round.

The treasure of Sterzing is its historic centre: with its many shops and cosy inns it is an accomplished gem of harmonic medieval architecture.

To the north the new town is divided from the central square by the Tower of the Twelve. Next to the coat of arms the tower has become one of the symbols of the city. The former Fugger city of Sterzing  offers numerous shopping opportunities where you can purchase Italian designer clothing, precious jewellery, Tyrolean arts and crafts products, local quality produce and man a rarity. The historic city centre with its bay windows, stairs and arcades ranks among the most beautiful shopping streets.
